Spoiler: This movie is BORING!
It was a very deep movie. So deep it put me into a coma and I slept through 35 minutes of the movie only to wake for the final 15 very boring minutes. The final 15 minutes were almost as boring as the first 15 minutes. I wouldn't have believed it possible but it's true. The start and end were almost as boring as each other.
I had to come and read the reviews to see if the movie had the same effect on other viewers. To my utter amazement, I read review after review of how deep and insightful and wonderful the movie was. (And also how I must be a cretin for not understanding the depth and nuances of the story line).
Are we talking about the same movie? The movie where the helicopter noise drowns out the conversation between actors so much that even when you replay that scene several times you still can't pick up on what they are saying? Maybe I should have turned my subtitles on. By the time I thought of doing so the moment of caring what they said had passed and I was thinking about eating food to pass the time.
I suspect the makers of the film were doing some covert testing for government to see if subliminal mass hypnosis delivered via a movie will work. Apparently it does.
Fortunately, I myself was not hypnotized. This is possibly the result of me falling asleep at a crucial time and missing the subliminal cues.
I am kicking myself. Really, I am. I knew better right from the start but still I persevered. The first few minutes were a sign of things to come - complete and utter boredom. However, I pushed through and ignored the warning signs. It was stupid of me. I have no one to blame but myself.
I can only think of one thing worse than having to sit through this movie again. And that is to be locked in a room with a dozen or so people who gave this movie positive reviews and have them explain it to me.
