Before this year I had not heard about Glynnette Byrom Scott, but now because of her book THE DAY I MARCHED WITH MARTIN the world has a chance to know about her.
I love how she takes us back to 1965 and what it was like for her at the age of 11 to be a part of history. She not only got to march with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She also got a chance to show others how people could come together for a common purpose.
Those were difficult times for sure. As just as her mother had fears, others did as well about how the message they were sharing would be received. In spite of the risks involved, they took a stand. It's a great reminder for us all of what is possible.
