The plotline in season 8 is excellent and compelling. But it did leave several loose ends. What happened to Haqqani? Once it became clear that he did not shoot down the helicopter, did he lose credibility with his men? Did Pakistan go after him? A scene indicating a partial resolution to the issue would have been nice. And perhaps I am wrong, but didn't two helicopters go down? What happened to the other one?
