AWFUL. Don't you just hate it when people think you dislike a show simply because you are stuck in the "good old days". Im not. This is a terrible show.
1) The original Magnum was cocky, self confidant, and very manly while still being humble and likable. This Magnum reminds me of the Gillette commercial which portrayed all men as fools who need to be put in their place. The new Higgins says "jump" and the new Magnum says "How high". Do male characters really have to be obedient like neutered dogs?
2) The new Higgins is exactly the same as every female lead character. She is attractive, prideful, conceited, overpowering, of course able to beat up men, like all female characters can, and absolutely no actual women in the real world do. Asa woman myself, I find it VERY disgusting that all women in tv shows are portrayed as being physically equal to me. We are not. I can not beat up a man. Any woman who says she can is fibbing. So what is the purpose of these portrayals? It makes as much sense as showing water faucets in which water constantly streams up towards the ceiling. Naturally the new Higgins wastes no time in putting the new Magnum in his place, and of course he loves it. The strange masochism gets old very fast. By the end of it I was hoping he would just punch her and move out. This is the complete opposite of the original where Magnum was the one with the reckless humor and always got the best of Higgins....but of course in the woke world of TV, the woman always has to be a Mary Sue. So she has to win
I really have no idea why they chose this actor for Magnum. he is a good character actor, but he isn't leading man material. He isn't all that fascinating, and watching him is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
The people who continued to watch this are a mystery, but there certainly isn't any of them.
