I went into this movie watching it after hearing a lot of great things about it. I went into this movie, after listening to an interview about it the night before on NPR.... The movie opens up with a basketball game and the pregame madness of getting everything prepared. The dialog seems forced, the audio is difficult to hear and the pacing of the movie is all over the place. I’m not going to give away any of the story.. but this movie is an hour and a half long and nothing really happens for the first hour and 10 minutes... I don’t understand the hype, the accolades, the reviews...did these people watch the same movie I just did? I’ve read several reviews that use the word “creepy”. For me it wasn’t creepy, scary, compelling... interesting. I really wanted to like this movie. Sorry. It just wasn’t possible.

An amazing story and technologically brilliant. Mendez tells a compelling story of the harsh realities of the First World War with grit and in your face reality. Oscar worthy for sure. Don’t miss
