Looking for the genius here, tripping over the clever and sad. I was lost on what they were trying to do here. Marty and Ike have a terrific tragedy and a terrific comedy but we are stuck in a nervous in between world. The anxiety is thick waiting for Ike to break bad and Marty to shatter. The laughs are muted by the impending implosion and the drama is quelled by two high quality comedic stars struggling through the doomed plot. Not my cup of tea. Four of my favorite actors here. I’ll watch everything else they produce.
