No one has portrayed the pain of the oppressed people with this much detail. The director went to extended research on this true story which happened in 1993 somewhere in Tamilnadu. Actor Surya shines both as an actor and producer. The risk he has taken for this movie is too high because it's openly talking about casteism followed by the people across the village where the lead character lives. One example is the panchayat president role portrayed by actor Elavarasu. Director T G Gnanavel has done an excellent casting for this film. Everyone has done the job perfectly and most of the characters are first-time actors who have never seen a camera in their life. Sean Roldan's music has lifted the movie to the next level. Cinematography and the Art team have done a tremendous job in every frame. The lead characters Sengeni and Raja Kannu deserve a national award in 2022. This is not only a film that exposes casteism it also shows the brutality of Police personals against the oppressed ones. Overall, it's a bold attempt by Actor and producer Surya which is highly appreciable.
