First, I grew up playing the original Sonic games from the Genesis/Mega Drive to the Dreamcast. This game is going to be remembered! I feel that Sega is allowing Sonic to mature and allowing the character to develop. I feel since 2006, 3D Sonic the Hedgehog has lost its edge- and this marks Sega reclaiming that spark. Finished playing Sonic Frontiers on hard and 100% everything. Story, open world aspect, game play mechanics, cyberspace, and boss fights were satisfying. I didn't really mind the pop-in and some shader glitches the game had (they weren't game-breakers). Even the momentum was customizable to your hearts content. The only thing I wish Sega were to do is to leave out the 2D gameplay and move on. I think at some point it breaks immersion. I understand why they did what they did (keeping the nostalgia going). In the next game - I'm hoping to see multiple characters make a return, maybe multiplayer, 2D gone (or less 2D) . Continued use of the combat system, Original bonus/cyberspace levels, More Open-zone worlds, keep developing the characters (this was one of the great aspects of Frontiers), and keep making unique and interesting badniks and bosses.
