My girlfriend introduced me to this show. She is a big fan and wished to share stuff about it. The first time she introduced it , I didn't quite like it. But now, with this pandemic and our dates happening online, when one day she asked "You wanna watch queer eye?", I said, "Yeah, sure." we started with this really emotional story of a gay Japanese guy , who was having a really hard time staying in his country because of his sexual orientation. And he was in love with this English guy he met during his studies abroad.
Starting with that episode , I have cried after watching each episode. As my girlfriend says, this world needs this show. I couldn't agree more. This show is a celebration of life.Â
One lesson that I could learn from that show is how important evolution is in our life. Could be in terms of moving on from death of loved ones, updating your wardrobe ,your culinary skills, even if you don't have any to begin with. This world is a playground and we are here to play. But as we grow older, we become the spectator.Â
One thing that I realized tonight about this show, which made me write this, was how as we grow , we close ourselves to new experiences. Especially with men, they start to go in a rut and to come out of the rut, it needs acceptance that you are in that position. It saves you from being vulnerable in front of others, but oh boy, you can't cry. Men shouldn't cry. And this same thinking helps us stay in that same rut and carry it along with us our entire lives.Â
Men , we gotta have a real talk with our friends, we gotta show each other like real ourselves. Not the same old conversation over beers.
