Bad screenwriting. Endless scenes that should have been edited down. We were looking forward to Brad Pitt and George Clooney, yet their comedic acting wasn’t enough to save the movie. At the end we were puzzled by the plot twists. It was a waste of good actors and an hour and a half of our time!

I super enjoyed this period piece. Great acting by Judi Dench. Sophie Clarkson and Tom Hughes. I felt it was seamless and very nuanced. This is why British dramas and actors mostly outperform their American counterparts. Once again the critics got it wrong! I’m really glad I saw this movie
