As a civil servant myself, I am in love with this series. No negative critic can write about this series unless they have been a civil servant themselves. The writing is completely off the chain combining humor and dead serious situations with accuracy "if you keep doing this, then one day after you are pushed in a black van and immediately fall asleep, then you will wonder why you wake up with a black hood over your head and plastic on the floor". Just brilliant. Extremely fast paced and definitely, based upon my research on the CIA, black sites, etc. realistic. I said it. There should be an award for the writing which is extremely witty, and the cast members are, whoever the casting director is should get an Emmy. I can't stop watching this series when I get off my day job. I am happy for season 2. This is exactly what DEXTER could have been (when he broke the fourth wall and spoke to the audience) and was supposed to be, and better. In fact, the animated series ARCHER comes to mind but I think this is even better (with far less profanity - I hate cartoon characters cursing God - makes me cringe). Even though I love that scene when Lana is getting revenge for Cyril having outside sex, where she has a like of men, invites co-workers to have sex with her and the gay guy is in line and they ask him "but you are gay" but the replies, "honey, I am not THAT gay". Hilarious. Well THE RECRUIT hits all the marks in MY book. Innovative, the script is awesome. The characters are likeable. Especially the one demanding Adderall. Over the top and beyond my expectations. I LOVE IT.

So interesting that as I turn on my TV this morning about to watch Christian TV, the movie CLUELESS is on and I actually take a FERIS BUELLER day off since I work at home on a Wednesday. I never say CLUELESS given I am 65 years old and could not relate to the character. I could not believe how much time the lead character spent being so clueless about life given her pedigree and background. Since this was on a Roku channel, the next movie that came on was MEAN GIRLS and my first Lindsey Lohan film. Wow, what a start she had and blew it all. LIKE ME. in my own life. I could not believe female students would be so catty. Or hateful. Loved that truth telling scene in the gym with Tina Fey. That is cause she is so nerdy hot. This this gem HONOR SOCIETY came on. WOW. What a mind bender. Actual character growth. That guidance counselor should have been arrested for his behavior and advances toward Honor. Great film I found superior to the other films mentioned. This film has a lot of heart.

This is one of those movies that I kept falling asleep on but have always loved John Sayles. Well I have tried to watch this movie over a few decades and ran into it again last night and forgot who directed it again as I fell asleep again. But now that I am awake and remembered the director, I have to finish this film because now I am in the same situation as Ms. Woodard's character working with a medically challenged Hasidic Jewish ostomy patient who is despondent, smokes a lot of cigarettes (alcohol) and no longer knows how to deal with his condition. Although this is my 2nd job, I do need this job, like the nurse, and truly empathize with the patient and nurse from the film along with my own patient. So this film now has a new perspective for me and I can't wait to watch it in its entirety. There is nothing phony about this film. The emotions are real and authentic.

Great show. Life changing. Impactful.

I cry just thinking about this movie and what Vivien Thomas had to go through to get recognized. How so much Afro talent and genius was wasted due to racism goes beyond the type of apartheid that was dominant in this country and limited the intellectual contribution of so many African descendants of slaves is sad. Such a beautiful movie that needs to be made at a greater frequency because I believe the contributions of African scientists between 1968 and 1948 represent the greatest contribution to science in the history of this planet.
