History repeats itself. Sometimes in order to explain that point movies that were made generations ago send a warning message about current events.
To me, "Trial" is one of those movies. Along with James Stewart in "The Mortal Storm", Spence Tracey in "Judgement at Neuenburg" and the USSR movie "Potemkin"
All of the above are more relevant today than Redford and Hoffman in "All the President's Men".
Said another way: The history that is repeating itself now are cycles that go back 20 to 50 years further than many people realize. And the consequences of not realizing the lessons, be they film fiction or not, is sadly being missed by many people.
