My family and I went to see this version of Whitney Houston movie yesterday and we thought it was better than other version that Angela Bassett directed. It was powerfully good as we had an opportunity to see positive side of Whitney at least 80% of them. We observed some accurate facts about her. It wasn't over-sexualized unlike the other version. I personally thought Naomi Ackie took a huge risk of playing the legendary singer, however, she did it justice when she played Whitney. I didn't see her playing Whitney. She was/is Whitney as she managed to stay in character throughout the film. So for that reason, I was impressed by her challenging and impressive performance. Also, well done to other cast members for their performances including a wonderful Stanley Tucci who played Clive Davis, who is a record producer and supportive friend of Whitney. The reason I put 4 stars is that the film itself was a bit long-winded in my and mother's opinion. Moreover, my mother said that she would preferred to watch the Whitney Houston tribute over the movie. Which I totally understand considering she is a fan of the LEGENDARY singer massively. I would recommend this film, if anyone who is keen to watch it.
