Most exciting crispy dialogue/stylized violence/redemptive villian/killer soundtrack film I’ve seen since Tarantino in his prime (think a more grounded period-piece Kill Bill or a less weird foot-fetish but equally fast and loose with history Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). Perfect casting all around but Regina King is a revelation. I LOL’d often, was meta aware I’d never seen a Western like this before, and was totally absorbed from opening scene to final word of credit (was planning to watch first half hour and go to bed but couldn’t stop and watched a zippy 2:05 till 2:00 in the morning). For its genre and its advancement of its genre, it was thrilling. More please.
