The show relies heavily on Indian tropes to an extent where the characters are reduced to mere caricatures who spit predictable one liners that make a modern Indian cringe. The show raises issues that it dails to deal with properly, it uses traditional Indian stereotypes such as forcing your child to study and hustle and not do anything else while conveniently letting it fade into the background in the next few episodes. The tropes are used as a crutch on which to build the episode and then dropped, this recurs with the diasporic identity crisis and body issues too. What a waste of 5 hours. This could be relatable to the first generation Indians in the US but will have a hard time evoking anything more than an eyeroll out of others
