This movie is a lazy cash-grab at the original. Disney clearly needs to stop with this trend. Since this movie is trying to be "realistic", it misses the appeal of the original and all of the amazing facial expressions. The fact that 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' is shot in the day is disappointing and lazy. How can people praise movies like this, while putting down genuinely good movies such as 'Joker'? The VFX sucks all of the soul out of the film. Most of the performances sound so fake and phoned in, especially Beyonce's. She decides to command every scene she's in, and it becomes too much for the movie. She takes over the whole song, 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' and you barely feel like Simba even likes her, because along with Beyonce's over-singing; you have Glover's under-performance. He can not sound angry in the high-pitched voice he's doing. He sounds like a five-year-old playing pretend villains. Jon Favreau has shown that he is competent and creative, but I feel Disney held him back to make this lazy, heartless, hollow remake. I wouldn't even let children watch it, it shows no beauty because of the dark color pallet. I wouldn't even suggest this as a movie to drink and watch with friends. The only enjoyable part was the embellished death of Scar. 1/10
