I am almost done with this show. I really liked the show up until season 4. I hate how they ended season 3. They had such a good thing going and I think everything would have been wrapped up perfectly if Marissa went on the boat, Ryan went to Berkley, Summer went to Brown and Seth started at RISD in the winter. It could have ended right there and been perfect. In season 4, nothing major really happens so it feels like one giant filler episode. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it. I liked seeing Ryan become more emotionally mature and I liked his dynamic with Taylor. I think she brought out a side in him that Marissa was never able to. The one thing about this show that I can't stand was Marissa. She was enjoyable is season 1 and then after that, she was so insufferable. Anytime she seemed to make some sort of emotional progress and mature a little bit, she always regressed and made another stupid decision. The on and off again relationship between her and Ryan got old after season 2 and a lot of Ryan's short term girlfriends ended up being more enjoyable than Marissa. I really liked Marissa and Johnny though. She just ends up being this spoiled brat who is constantly acting out and never seems to change. It gets old really fast. Overall, I really enjoyed this series and would recommend it to anyone who wants a light watch. Helps me take my mind off a hard day at work and had a lot of cute moments. I'm gonna miss these characters once I finish the OC.
