This movie will upset Catholics and men who only watched for Sydney Sweeney's assets. Five stars.

If you have sex you should watch it. If you are in romantic love you should watch it. If you love a victim of sexual violence you should absolutely watch this movie. If you are interested in tantric sex you should watch it- yes, it goes there. Also if you love 90s Lifetime movies, and Twin Peaks star Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer herself, playing traumatized sex abuse victim, again, but more nuanced this time.) I truly love this movie. I came for Sheryl Lee and the promise of steamy psychosexual romance, but was pretty blown away at it's handling of waning desire in a long-term relationship, female "frigidity", male loneliness, therapy, sex therapy, discussion of borderline personality disorder (BPD), and surviving incest. It starts off feeling 90s, vaguely sexist but relatable guys, high-strung, neurotic wife and tension at home. But it unravels it all so well. Strongly recommend.

A truly bizarre and brilliant film that plays with perspective and horror tropes. It vacillates from laugh out loud cartoonish to excruciatingly, psychologically poignant. It explores loss, family, faith, superstition, narcissism, and self preservation vs politeness and convention. I watched it two times in a row to capture all of the seeds of plot twists planted throughout.

A brilliant, messy, fever dream of girlhood, humanity, power, and growing up.

Best new show in years. Glad Adam Scott is finally getting the leading roll he deserves. The tone, styling, acting, plot, all complex and interesting. The interpersonal relationships are all so good, especially little things like the dynamic between Mark and his sister, and her and her weird but well-intentioned husband. I'm on my third watch-through and still riveted. One-star reviewers seem to need plot hand-holding or explosions in their TV shows, their loss.
