Shame on NOVA for never even mentioning the critical drawback to nuclear power in its television special about the use of earth’s natural resources to power our modern world. Until we figure out how to safely and permanently dispose if or reuse the nuclear waste resulting from the generation of electric power at nuclear power plants, it is completely irresponsible and dangerous for us to continue employing nuclear technology to generate power. A fair representation of the nuclear power option would have emphasized the magnitude of this problem and detailed the quantity of highly radioactive nuclear waste currently being unsafely and “temporarily” stored throughout this country and the world.
