It's unlike Murakami's dystopian masterpieces but ignoring the fact that it's a different genre, it still has unclaimed potential as to what happens to probably my favorite character which is left as a plothole and i know Murakami leaves things up to the reader to interpret but this one just felt wrong in all shapes and forms like if im gonna interpret something at least give me some depth to add to it.
Other than that, it does achieve the quality that Murakami books have where the meaning of the story isn't supposed to be apparent rather you're just supposed to feel the events that occur throughout each character's journey and make your own interpretation so i do like that about this book. There are some solid connections that can be made within different parts of the book that gives you a deja wu of how recurring events are similar but happening to different characters.
in short, good book, could've been great.
