Brilliant read. I was worried that I had dipped into some sort of romance / self-discovery thing as judged by the title and the first few pages, but it turns into a super page-turner. First one of KS's books that I can remember reading; certainly not the last.
Basically, a seemingly quiet woman has her ugly past rear its head following a violent episode in which she saves her dim-witted daughter's life. The daughter then starts to ask difficult questions of her mother and is forced to undertake a bit of a road trip as a result. A great cast of strong characters, quite a few of whom end up dead. A lot of deceit and a red herring or two are included at no extra cost!
