Delightful but improbable story about a young girl aged six abandoned by her family in the swamps of North Carolina.Wonderful descriptions of nature the flora and fauna the sea birds the tides and the ever changing swamps.Kya grows up ,falls in love with two men.one is true and the other uses and abuses her.This is an easy read by an accomplished author who is a terrible poet.It is also a murder mystery
