This is my first book by the author. I didn’t love it. I love psychological thrillers and this just didn’t have that vibe. It didn’t feel like a thriller at all. It felt like a messed up family history narrative. I was thoroughly sickened by Henry, so if that was the author’s intent then I guess she succeeded. I was left with a sick, violated feeling at the end without any of the “wow” factor. The resolutions at the end weren’t very believable and the character’s motivations for showing up 25 years later just felt odd. I wouldn’t recommend this book. Three stars only because it was fast-paced and kept my interest until the end when it was really ruined for me.
