This Batman flick was almost as excellent The Dark Knight, but was and wasn’t for a few reasons.
Ways it did: it has the darkest tone of any movie I have ever seen in my life, and I’ve seen a lot. Levels of darkness include: The Riddler, portrayed in this as a sadistic serial killer with many mental issues I can’t even get started on. And cinimatography was great. I don’t know why else to say about it However, tone is not the only way this surpasses The Dark Knight. Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman is, dare I say it, almost as flawless as Heath Ledger’s Portrayal of The Joker, but does beat Christian Bale’s performance as Batman. Now, don’t get me wrong, Christian Bale was great, but there was something about Pattinson’s Batman that made me feel, well, kind of scared, because, he is, after all, a younger Batman. This is proved by him beating criminals almost to death, meaning that since he is younger, he doesn’t have as many rules as a more mature, older Batman would have.
The way it does not surpass The Dark Knight is because you simply can’t beat that movie’s perfection. Christopher Nolan’s direction and take on the character, Batman, changed superhero movies forever, showing that they can darker that previously shown in early movie adaptations of superheroes, meaning no other take on any other superhero could have the same impact ever again.
