I love this book. It made me think about my Dutch childhood, and a little ashamed. Never did I think as a child about what my forefathers caused. However, in my own life, I am like the writer. I never discriminated, even as a child. I had friends from all cultures and backgrounds. I am very interested and intrigued by different cultures, but was not taught, or was innocent to what pain our forefathers caused others. Now, I know...It is my wish that people from other cultures accept people like me for who we are, and open their minds to people like me who were not party, or worked hard not to be party to causing others pain. Very much like the writer.
