I really like Lester Holt and we've recorded and watched NBC Nightly News every night for the past 20 years. It's been our go-to national news program. But now - I've had it.
In recent years all the networks, but it seems especially NBC, have stretched hype and hyperbole beyond all reasonable limits. I certainly understand that a certain amount of spin around the facts is desirable for the networks to build interest but it's out of control in the news and even the weather. The weather reports with Al Roker (who I also like) make it seem that on any given day at least 70 million people are at high risk of death by heat stroke if they don't get out of the 'feels like' temperature of 105. NBC rarely even gives the actual temp in Fahrenheit anymore - it doesn't sound hot enough I suppose. Scientifically, what is a 'feels like' temp anyway? Apparently some extrapolation of temperature and humidity.
Anyway, I've had enough!
We now watch PBS.
