Watched in opened mouth bemusement…unsure if it was meant to be a comedy or a spoof of a drama. It was formulaic & probably written by ChatGPT. The actor’s performance was comedic. Then came the woke… BBC just aren’t trying anymore, their Sunday night sermons are obvious, lazy, trite and boring.

This show is amazing in how awful it is. Amazing how bad a drama can be. There are some great actors but paired with DEI quotas, even they appear wooden and amateur. The whole point of this dirge appears to be to fill time between adverts, to deliver ‘The Message’ and social engineering. ITV continue to underestimate & hector the audience.

I could only manage the first episode. It struck me as a poor parody of the movie starring Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise. As I watched, I thought why sit through this second best version strung out over a series? Maybe the acting is superior or they focus on areas in the book not fully explored? Not from what I saw and so won’t waste time with the rest. I’ve persevered with substandard remakes and glossy looking productions like this in the past so know to trust my gut on this. Will stick to the book and the original movie.

Couldn’t stand more than 20 minutes. The incessant background music was irritating and affected the comprehension of old footage as it was rendered virtually impossible to hear the voices. Would love to find this without the annoying music.

This programme series may have been interesting. Sadly, there was constant unrelated music throughout. Annoying repetitive noise that was distracting. Image someone reading a history book to the accompaniment of a car alarm.

Irritated that I even invested one minute of viewing time to this. Some people said it was funny but I found it annoying. It was just another Shane Meadows film this time set at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

Arse clenchingly unfunny. Horrible. Tasteless vulgarity.
