This movie was a little long, a tad dim, and a smidge convoluted. This movie also never bored me, had beautiful camera work and lighting, and created a weaving plot structure that, if followed, perfectly encapsulates Gotham and the mythos of The Batman. The cast's collective performance was engaging; the mix of corrupt, named officials and larger-than-life, classic villains was smooth and interesting, antagonists that represent Batman's rogues gallery in a new, grounded setting; Batman's allies, as well as Bruce himself, are more imperfect and admirable than ever before, a really engaging group that invites the audience to root for the "good guy." Over all, the music, lighting, acting, directing, themes story couldn't have been much better, and I am excited to see what Reeves has in store for this franchise.
