When I made a little research, I was already low on expectations, since: 1. The director changed 2. The director is the guy from Maze Runner 3. Andy Serkis is not in the movie The trilogy planet of the apes is already founded on being derivative, but at least every movie has a story leading it: Dawn is about a scientist forming a bond with the first intelligent ape, Rise (the best) is about human survivors and emerging ape society clashing and interacting, War is about how different choices divide heroes from villain. Kingdom is a heartless cash grab that throws at you few interesting world building ideas and try to stretch them for two hours and more of apes talking like apes, something that worked before because of the human counterpart, here represented by this super-shallow girl that stares in the camera like she’s about to puke. Felt asleep for a brief moment, I was awaken by the final show down and…was super disappointing, the muscle of the villains simply drowning and the “big bad” taken by eagles…it gets two stars for the visuals and because the villain is not completely “super bad for no reason”, they tried to make him slightly tridimensional.

Take all the love you gave to that ####### pile of #### that is "M3GAN" and give it to Abigail. Also, if you haven't already, don't watch trailer, go in it blind.

I honestly don't think that the low budget and the independent vibe of this movie justifies the terrible plot and script. I think many of us thought: "A farm where humans are slaughtered like cattle would be a cool horror", it's not an original idea, it was just never made. Having it made this way...what a waste. Example: you have a low budget, you can't realize cool-looking, solid cages...make one big pit/cage where sweaty naked humans scream altogether. That would have been a horror classic. What does the production do? put single actors in cages that wouldn't keep a chihuahua from escaping. The contradiction between "cattle have feelings like humans" and the fact that humans have thousands of way of using intelligence to get themselves out of a situation creates this nonsense where the story makes the humans stand there without really trying to escape that much. If they had shown a scene where the humans were given drugs, maybe with a simple smoke machine effect, it would have made way more sense. Also, do these guys provide meat for regular people? Why not show an underground cannibal market (like in "Fresh")?. Acting can be excused by the small budget but man, even Benedict Cumberbatch wouldn't improve the lines of the bad guys. This was a real disappointment, the proof that an idea itself can't make a good movie.

God bless the Cronenbergs…what did the good David do to raise these kids?! Just when Brandon affirmed himself with the beautiful Infinity Pool, his sister Caitlin have my jaw dropped with Humane: A stylish, minimalistic play on the horror trope of home invasion, a genre that Caitilin herself is not fond of, as she confesses in the interviews…and rightfully so! Because Humane embraces a perfect cast and a polished script to elevate itself from the generic horror flick. Anything I add would go in spoiler territory, and any character description is spoiler-ish in this movie. Do me two favours, go on it blind…and please tell me what happened to one of them (you’ll understand, a character’s fate is not clear).
