I highly recommend this book by Christy Lefteri, it is tragic, inspiring and beautiful. I expected sadness in the stories of refugees escaping horrific circumstances in their country and the tragedies are there but Lefteri has lightened this by including the experiences of the beekeeper, Nuri and his family. His journey from Aleppo to the UK is described in detail - the sea journeys, life in refugee camps, the people smugglers and interviews by those who decide if refugees can stay or must go.
Christy Lefteri has worked as a volunteer with UNICEF in a refugee centre and talked to those who have made the heartbreaking decision to leave their home and make the horrific journey to safety.
Read it and learn.
