Heidi Newman – Google

So interesting to read the other reviews and their take on this film. I was pleasantly surprised by it's originality and breadth of characters. But at the very heart of this film is a slow burn of a relationship between a tough woman and a man who sees her for what she is and admires her. I laughed a lot at the unexpected madcap antics. Is it a perfect film ? No. Is it worth seeing? Absolutely.

The first 5 minutes of this movie I was like Uh-Oh, it was verbose and the camera angles were not stellar - BUT, it got better and better and BETTER and ultimately was a fine film. Edward Norton, in his moments where you can't tell he's acting, is one of the best in the business. He was vulnerable and real and human and well just great! Interesting characters all around and it's worth seeing just for the jazz scenes alone. I was very impressed with the dialogue. It was intelligent and it surprised me that Norton also wrote the script. I am super picky about dialogue and found it interesting and intelligent. Would I recommend this film? Absolutely. It matters where you spend your dollars at the theater and this film is well worth seeing, supporting and recommending. Well done Edward Norton, I would definitely see his next directorial endeavor.

I laughed harder at this movie than at any movie - ever. Maybe some stick-in-the-muds don't like it, but I sure as heck did. I am 60 years old and have 6 kids of my own. I took my youngest and his buddy. Best movie day in a long time. It hit just the right tone for a comedy. Not too brash, loud and over the top, not too smarmy, it was sweet, clever and the laughs just kept coming. I particularly liked that the the young kids characters were very consistently defined. The theater was filled with laughter so it wasn't just me - and also filled with adults!
