I would compare it to someone trying to rewrite the story of Avatar: The Last Airbender after only reading the spark notes of the book. It had a pretty strong start but just got more and more off the original story line the further it went along. Introducing many of the characters with little or no backstory and adding new elements that hurt the flow. However, I do like the focus on the more dark side of the story of ATLA. That being said, this would have been a much better series had the creators just decided to not piggy back off a very well known series. Might have even been better if they even just named the series something other than ATLA

Completely missed the mark. Too white. Slow action. Worst acting. Skips over key elements of the show. It’s as if they just heard about the show, looked up one YouTube video and decided to make a movie.
