So. Boring.
Having not read much about this story when it broke, I was interested at first, especially regarding how so many people could become sucked into a pyramid scheme like this that is based on techniques of psychological manipulation. After the second episode, it started to drag on -- like they had enough material for maybe 2-3 hours of content, and stretched it into 9 episodes. NINE episodes. What were those TV execs thinking??
These people are milking this thing for all it's worth. The more I watched, the more I just saw those who "escaped" as being complicit, and trying to profit off of the scandal and get themselves in the spotlight. The old English woman is especially boring. Every time she comes on the screen it feels like some dull pointless reality show and I literally just leave the room to do something else. I stopped watching at episode 4 and skipped ahead to the finale. Still boring.
Definitely do not recommend.
Post Script: And now I find out they're doing a second season?? ughhh
