701 Mastermind

I don't see how this movie got such low critical review. I loved it. I understood it and the singing was great. It gritty tale about how Aretha achieved her success. It was about her turbulent relationships with her father, her husband, and her manager. It was a bit too long, after two hours I want to leave the theater. Other than that I thought it was time well spent.

Absolutely the WORST movie I have seen in a long time. As far as continuity was concerned, it was right up there with TUSK. The pace of the movie was also excruciating slow. They would introduce characters and scenes for no reason and then get rid of them, like a scene of men gambling in French. They would also switch scenes without telling you why and where they were going, like Damon breaking up with his girlfriend in one scene and making up in the next. Next, I didn't feel any kind of relationship with any of the characters, including Damon. He just didn't have any great scenes. I left 20 minutes before the ending which shows you how anxious I was to leave the theater. It was 2.5 hrs back pain. Sorry, I loved Damon as the Martian. lol
