Cousin Jack – Google

This should have been a five star show and in a lot of ways it certainly qualifies as such. The plot; locations; production and performances are all very good. The writer(s) however must know some rather strange people if they actually believe that real people conduct themselves in a manner remotely similar to the characters in this series. The behaviour and dialogue presented is often ridiculous; bordering on ludicrous and makes the series difficult to watch. I have face palmed and uttered 'ffs' out of disbelief more whilst watching this show than at any other time in my viewing life. The pathetic discourse aside, if there was an award for 'Characters who should not be allowed to procreate under any circumstances' then this motley crew would be able to provide a surfeit of nominees. The report card should read; 'could have been better...a lot better'.

For once ignoring the infestation of woke BS, I rate this series as a damn good yarn and well worth a watch. I know the anoraks are have a hissy about the historical accuracy, but it is a work of fiction, loosely based on fact and historical figures. You could as well condemn Avatar for the aliens being too blue. Get over it, shun your anachronistic troll, and enjoy it for what it is. A rare five stars.

Five minutes in and the same old box ticking has started. The evil big-it-ed pale people have surfaced immediately, just waiting for all the other usual suspects to turn up. The premise is so overdone it can only be seen as a joke. I am going to continue as long as I can, but already can feel the pressure building dangerously in my bile duct. Edit; Half way through and I know, I know, but I have displayed masochistic tendencies before. The box ticking is fast and furious and it's quite comforting to see that the cliché is alive and well and thriving at Netflix. This series really has it all right down to the petulant, self centered, disobedient teenagers that so many American shows present. I hope that they aren't really like that. My will to continue is fading.

An average movie in every sense and not worth bothering with unless you are really bored... I mean REALLY bored. The trailer for the movie flashes up all these accolades from various sources which make a mockery of accolades everywhere. The story line is one that could, and perhaps it was, have been written by an angsty teenager just setting out on their writing career. I think this one cost me a good few brain cells, which is why it gets a well below average 'one'. It is even well beyond the considerable capabilities of Mr. Reeves to salvage this effort. Don't bother.

Yeah...it should have been good but it really wasn't. It is the sort of show to watch when you can't find anything half decent to keep you occupied. The story isn't too bad, with some pretty good performances from some of the actors, but you need to get past the average dialogue, general cheesiness and repeated nauseating gushing sentimentality to have a chance of getting to the end without falling into some sort of serious medical condition. In addition, some of the characters spent the entire series, or so it felt, with a look on their faces as if their finger had just gone through the toilet paper. I managed to get to the end but in rapidly diminishing spurts. I have given it a three, and I am not really sure why I marked it so highly, it could be that my brain is still a bit numb from the experience.
