CP was my favorite author as a kid and honestly if my parents knew what I was reading 30 years ago they would have flipped the hell out. I am trying to read this from a POV of my younger self which is surprisingly easy. CP is still sexualizing teen girls which is disappointing. The story is lazy as is the writing in comparison to his 80s and 90s work. I felt compelled to skip chapters after 10. I couldn’t get enough it. Reading the Wikipedia to figure out the ending was more satisfying. The first nine chapters left me wanting more then I just wanted it to end. I understand that there are more horror and thriller writers that appeal to both YA and adults such as Grady Hendrix but come on CP let’s catch up.
