You abandon one of the greatest science fiction stories and base the whole premises of the adaption on a picture from the Jeff Wayne musical version. The redhead in a green dress running from the martians. Three hours of dreary subplot, terrible script and poor acting just to recreate this image and make her the main character. So disappointed. No wonder the BBC seemed reluctant to release this earlier.
