every year the multiplayer aspects get focused on while the pro mode takes a back seat. This year was different. They made the be a pro mode way more fun to play.
I feel like I actually have something to play towards. If you are a multiplayer-only person, you may feel like updates are thin, but us single player career mode folks are rejoicing on a little love. The commentators amd radio bits between games gives it character.
The ai feels generally better... some tweaks still needed but it has gotten way better. The skating also feels more fluid than last year. Again, some tweaks to be made still but better.
I am really liking the game this year. If anyone from the EA NHL team is reading, I would 100% pay extra if you were able to get regional commentators and radio personalities. It would give additional personal feeling to the game. Would love to be in Boston, for instance, and get a Jack Edwards play by play (biases included), and a Felger & Mazz radio discussion between games. Or if you get traded you get the new region's commentators instead. Probably easier said than done if you want to keep game size down
