Pandering to the audience with toxic masculinity, violence and a weak plot line. I am a big fan of Viking movies and I expected the same from the many TV and movie tales of the Vikings. But...to be honest...this had to be one of the most awful movies I have seen in a long time. The acting was excellent and the directing very good. However, overall I felt the violence, the toxic masculinity pandered to the audience instead of moving the story forward. The script was a little rough and lacking in a final polish. I enjoy Viking movies a lot, but this was just too awful to enjoy the movie. There problems with the sound production throughout the movie. See it if you want, just be prepared for the violence, yelling, and unnecessary noise. I do not recommend this movie.
