I couldnt help thinking, while watching this movie, how formulaic it was but as it moved along i became much more emotionally engaged. I wasnt alone. I heard sniffles throughout the theatre which came from the film's ability to successfully showcase the power of how much Freddie was genuinly loved and accepted by his band mates. it displayed how much they all needed each other, working together, confidently, despite natural differences, for queen to be as successful as they were. thus, the theme of the movie for me was family and how strong one can be if held together with their core values and team mentality. i personally couldnt hold back the tears when Freddie visited his father for the last time and the LiveAid reinactment was outstanding.
