The set and the costumes are also stunning, everything combined to make hauntingly beautiful visuals, even if gothic romance isn everyone's cup of tea the visuals alone is a solid reason to see it.
While most people (including me) going into this movie with an expectation that Crimson Peak is going to be a bone chilling horror movie, even though this film has horror elements I feel like it meant to be a tragic romance similar to Jane Eyre. With that mindset established after I've been watching for a while, it was easier for me to see why it isn't like most horror film, which according to Guillermo del Toro's past works he tends to make his films feel like dark fairytales, so this movie isn't out of the ordinary for his style. So I'd recommend this to any Guillermo's fans out there.
