Definitely not my favorite Wes Anderson movie. I got some laughs and really wished that he had pursued the moral question that kept rising to the surface but never quite breaking through: “can a person be successful in business and also moral in the world?” Since we are literally living through that question on a daily basis, I wish that Anderson had dropped a few canned laughs and punched a few guts!

I went to see this movie solely because I thought it might be Coppola’s last. I stayed out of respect for him and the cast. The only movie I’ve ever walked out of was Eyes Wide Shut and I don’t regret it. I think I may be getting soft in my old age… or at least getting used to Coppola’s crazy fever dreams.
