One of the best books I’ve read in the past year, and I am an avid reader. What a revelation! At times humorous and self-deprecating, then poignant and heartbreaking, this unique tale held me captive. The author uses historical data and scientific accounts to augment the personal narrative. I can’t say enough for the layers peeled back to reveal a warm and broken family story.
