The story of an hour is written by an ancient American voice Kate Chopin in the early 1800s. It was published in 1894. Kate Chopin is indeed an outstanding writer, in the story of just two pages she described how a woman insists on her independence after marriage. The main purpose of the author was to inculcate a sense of freedom for women in the people. She describes when a person is controlled and made to live under another person their mental state of mind is affected. Moreover, she shows how a woman is annoyed and hesitant to be dependent after marriage showing her unhappy life under her husband's control, but she feels free much as if she is released from some bondage when knew about his death. However in my opinion the author should not mention the death of the woman's husband, because death is not any solution to problems. She could rather mention their separation, divorce, or any other resolution. No one's death is fixed or known, what will other women do who have the same problem? Or will they also wait for their husband's death to get rid of his control and to have freedom? The author well described the problems faced by women after marriage but she did not mention their solutions.
