I went to this movie after seeing good ratings in Google. My mistake.
I'm rating 2 stars only for the sake of BGM. The rest doesn't deserve any stars at all. I don't know why on earth Dhanush decided to do such a weak movie. I couldn't sit thro' to the whole movie & just came out bcos it kept on dragging.
Shiva Rajkumar's role merely ornamental. Zero logic - 700 soldiered British army has very limited rifles and bazookas but the rebels just keep on getting grenades, bazookas, rifles and especially glock guns which were not used in that timeline.
Weak storyline, incoherent direction, weak characterization, unnecessary fight scenes. Cherries on top is that the British Generals & Lords don't have British accent; Bennington & O'Nell are Americans. They should've gone with British actors or atleast trained Bennington & O'Nell to perfect the accent. I think the director thought that White people are enough to convince the audience & they wouldn't know the difference.
The female lead can't be more expressionless. Someone should teach her that jusy widening one's eyes doesn't express anger.
And what's with Kokken's expressions? It was supposed to be maniacal but all I felt was irritation.
Overall, I wasted 2.30 hours of my life when I could've done something better with it.
