Sadly. wonka was tedious. Even hopping around on rooftops with balloons had me urging them to "just get on with it for pity's sake". The sentimental mom stuff for both leads did not resonate and my opinion there was too much indifferent music. There was nothing real or satisfying or even funny. What's funny about corrupt clerics or fart jokes? Wonka had magic but so did the evil hair growing chlocateers. Is it just me? What on earth possessed them to pour money and talent into a production that is so badly written?
