If the actors who played the various characters in Moonfall watched it back, it must have been hard for them to hide their embarrassment and shame for ever having been associated with this totally rubbish film. Not only is the story ridiculous, it is boring and far too long at over two and a half hours. It could have been done in well under two hours with the removal of unnecessary sub- characters. I watched it until the end just to see how bad it could get. Save two and a half hours of your life by doing something useful....like going to bed for a nap for example!

A great film which keeps one's interest going until the very end. Well made with great acting. It is important to realise that the film is an aviation themed drama and NOT a documentary. The the film is set in the early 1950's, evidenced by the fact that it shows the De- Haviland Comet airliner, complete with BOAC livery. BOAC did not take delivery of the Comet until 1952 by which time the sound barrier, in realty, had been broken several times. Chuck Yeager, a US Air force pilot was the first man to break it in 1947. John Derry was the first British pilot to break it in 1948. Neither character, or their achievements, are mentioned in the film which is why l mention that the film should be seen as a fictional drama, losely based upon what was really happening in aviation at the time. A great film nevertheless which l have watched several times.

I am now 75 years of age and this is one of my favourite films. Although a TV movie l have always thought it worthy of the big screen especially with its clever and unusual camera angles. It is cleverly done throughout with the tension mounting from the very sedate but clever start. I feel that the film has been overwhelming analysed with critics trying to work out the film's 'true meaning', but the truth is, is that it is just a plain old psychological thriller which, like modern films, did not need special effects, explosions and bullets flying around. I have seen it several times but only today when l watched it did l pick up the tiny detail that the car driver had blood in his mouth whilst driving..... no doubt from biting his lip or tongue due to the terror of the chase... l thought that clever. Well done Speilberg! A brilliant film.

A very good film which should be seriously considered as an accurate account of bombers command activities in WW11. Although the main plot was just an ordinary love story, the bombing raid on Germany which climaxes the film is extraordinary and is the best treatment of this subject l have ever seen on film. The raid uses a mixture of studio work and actual WW2 footage,. Although the aircraft shown on fire and jinking about to avoid ground fire are obvious models, for the times the film was made this is excusable. I have the film recorded and have kept it solely to periodially watch the raid sequence. Very, very good indeed.

A very good film but which covers the same historic subject ( ie. The assassination of Heidrich) as several other films. In 1965 l visited Prague on a college exchange trip. We were taken to the actual site of the assassination attempt, the church where the Czech fighters holed up and to Lidici, the village which was exterminated. We were told that Lidici was chosen for extermination by the Germans as a postcard from there was found on the body of one of the resistance fighters in the church. This was not mentioned in the film so how accurate that piece of information was l do not know. I can vividly remember the bullet holes in the interior walls of the church. It was these experiences which made me watch the film but knowing ' what happened', took the edge off it a bit. Very good though.
