To start with the positives, the acting was excellent. The plot at its core was very interesting. And the last scene was immensely intense…
Spoilers ahead. There were many plot holes in this movie. The two abandoned children were missing adapt to their characters. What kind of up raising did they have without their mother? What did they want from her? Why did they suddenly decide to torture the family? How were both sets of kids so close in age when that’s really not possible? Why did the family allow themselves to be trapped when it did not appear that the two older kids had any serious weapons with them. Why did the mother not choose to defend her innocent family?
By not flushing out these characters more, the empathy factor was missing. I only felt truly sorry Ian as he legit did not know about any of this, so I’m not sure why the oldest wanted to kill him.
It had good potential, but I wish they had done some things differently.
