The book is not good for reference or reading. The author's self bloviating, long winded and condescending way of writing is somewhat distracting from the really interesting story of the 1st Alabama Cavalry. The book could be cut in half and be interesting if the author stayed on point and not put in all the personal stories. Even then when he stays on point with the topic there are too many add on opinions. Do not recommend.
