Hillbilly Elegy was a heart-wrenching story about a young man that despite his circumstances growing up in rural Ohio, was able to break the cycle of poverty, addiction and mental illness. The story really touched me and many times I could not hold back the flood of tears even if I wanted to. This movie is one of the best I have seen in a long time. Amy Adams and Glenn Close did a fantastic job portraying the mother and grandmother of JD. I was reminded throughout this movie of not only how one person has the ability to have such an impact on ones life, but also that no matter where we come from or what obstacles we face in life we choose our destiny. A must see!!
